We often hear the term 'fake news'. But what even is fake news? Is it an article where the core of the story is incorrect? Or can something already be considered fake news when a quote or title is misleading or wrong? The answers to those questions are subjective. However, it is the objective truth that fake news can be very dangerous. People can view the wrong information as reality, and base their actions and thoughts on a lie or untruth. That might not seem that concerning, until you think about the effects that may have on public health, politics, or war. How do we prevent fake news from spreading without freedom of speech being compromised?
